JOHN MATTHEW
BIO & RESUME

JOHN MATTHEW had his first voiceover job at age 6, but it would be some years before he returned to the recording booth. In the interim, he played a little piano, a lot of drums, and even some guitar. He also tried his hand at volleyball, rollerblading and mountain climbing, and even got a Geography degree from UCLA. Naturally, he was exhausted after all this, and decided to return to the profession that required the least running.

Now a veteran with over 15 years in the business, John has lent his voice to hundreds of projects in all types of media, from radio to the Internet. He has narrated over 45 episodes of the Food Network Challenge, as well as The History of The Beach for the History Channel, and several special features in the Star Wars Trilogy DVD boxed set. Most recently John was the promo voice for the Montel Williams Show, featured characters in two Jack-In-The-Box radio spots, and the announcer on three infomercials: Sleek Essentials, Core Rhythms and Carnie Wilson’s Lite And Hope. He can also be heard as multiple characters in The Adventures of Andy Applebutter, an animated educational DVD for children.

In addition to voicing - and producing & editing demos for other voice actors, John continues to play drums & guitar, upgrade his home studio and crack wise at social gatherings. A self-described “Local Personality”, John now enjoys enough political clout within the industry to write his own bios.

Some of his other clients & projects include: Sempra Energy, National University, The Milken Institute, Callaway Golf, Everquest II, Neverwinter Nights, Marco Polo - Return To Xanadu, Red Cross of San Diego, Michaels Stores, INVIDI, DowntownLA.com, Help-U-Sell, JobSummit.com, Vespa, Blue Cross CA, IKEA, Mattel, Hyundai, Pat & Oscar's Restaurants, Easton Sports, Baja Tourism, NBC, HBO, Time Warner Cable, Associated Bank, Red Robin Restaurants, The La Jolla Group, Aviatech, Morris Communications, The Heavy Constructors Assn., Del Mar, Cal State San Marcos, and Playa Vista.
